Suntec delivers 5th edition of Chartered
Secretary on CD, which contains 36 years' of Chartered
Secretary Journals published by
Institute
of Company Secretaries of India. The project
consisted of developing an Interactive CD Application (to
organize, index and publish a large body of mixed
content such as text, images, illustrations) and
digitizing 36 years of journals (scanning, text &
XHTML conversion, creating metadata and indexes). More

August 2007
Suntec's Forms Processing division bags a
project for fielding (adding interactive form fields
to a PDF) about 4,000 forms from a US
based firm specializing in business form and data
collection automation software. The project requires
forms acquisition, fielding the PDF forms (including
advanced form fielding using Visual Basic and Java
Script) and an elaborate QA/QC process to populate
and the PDF Forms.
Despite many unforeseen challenges, Suntec has
implemented systems and core processes to ensure top
notch results. We did this by setting up a dedicated team
of 50+ full-time staff to meet the strict turnaround and quality requirements of this important project.

The Norwegian Library of Talking Books and Braille (NLB) executes an agreement with Suntec's XML conversion division for the production of text in DTBook format from print originals.
NLB produces books in the DAISY format.
DTBook format (Digital Talking Book) : The
new file format is based on an ANSI NISO standard
and the text portions of it are referred to as
Digital Talking Book (DTBook), an XML standard
coordinated by the DAISY Consortium and the Library
of Congress' National Library Service for the Blind
and Physically Handicapped (NLS).
The non-profit DAISY Consortium is promoting
DAISY XML standards throughout the world. Suntec is
providing conversion to DTBook, beginning this year
to TPB and NLB.

Suntec's eLearning division has bagged a year-long project to deliver e-learning modules for a Fortune 100 company. The project involves creating a storyboard, script writing, and Flash animations.

The Swedish Library of Talking Books and Braille (TPB) executes an agreement with Suntec's XML conversion division for the production of text in DTBook format from print originals. TPB produces in the DAISY format, and is a member of the board of the DAISY Consortium.
The agreement is made for:
- Scanning of print originals
- OCR and proof-reading text
- Scanning and correction of images
- Mark up in accordance with the DTBook standard - including markup of mathematics, physics and simpler chemistry

Suntec's Document Imaging and Indexing Services division has secured a project to digitize 90 years of journals for a government body in UK . The project to be completed within 12 weeks will require converting archives for use in a digital library. The job will involve scanning, indexing OCR and XML tagging the archives, some of which are very old and fragile . |
