Our client is a European technology pioneer that launched the continent’s first integrated mobility platform, consolidating ride-hailing, car rentals, bike sharing, and intercity and intracity transport into a single app. This innovation eliminated the need for multiple providers, streamlining both local and cross-city travel for users.
As the client expanded across European markets, they needed accurate, complete, up-to-date, and structured contact data to drive partnerships and align marketing efforts.
They approached us with two primary requirements:
The project involved a multi-phase data validation process, including:
While the project was well-defined, several aspects made execution complex:
The project involved verifying, updating, and classifying over 120,000 records across multiple countries, each with unique naming conventions and industry-specific nuances. The client required exact adherence to company classification, contact verification, and formatting standards. No inconsistencies were acceptable. In addition to meeting these detailed requirements, the project had to be completed within the stipulated timeframe while ensuring robust data security at every project stage.
Many company names contained special characters, question marks, or outdated references, requiring manual web research and validation to ensure data accuracy.
Contact records often reflected outdated job titles or affiliations, requiring manual checks, additional updates, and validation from reliable sources (such as LinkedIn, the company website, or professional directories).
Single-source validation was insufficient. Details had to be cross-referenced across LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, company websites, and other trusted databases. This multi-layered verification approach ensured high data fidelity.
Ensuring GDPR compliance while conducting comprehensive data verification across multiple jurisdictions required careful navigation of privacy laws, data retention policies, and consent mechanisms.
To address the client’s extensive requirements, we assigned a dedicated team of data specialists and subject matter experts. A detailed SOP was established to enforce process consistency and ensure data security, compliance, and integrity. As part of the solution, we handled:
We began by identifying and removing duplicate entries from the database to prevent downstream data conflict. The company data refined through data cleaning was then validated through manual web research.
Our data specialists conducted manual Google searches to validate official URLs of the companies and updated them in the database. For industry and address verification, we cross-referenced the companies’ data with their official websites, LinkedIn profiles, and other reliable third-party sources. The status of the companies that were dissolved or no longer exist was updated in a separate column (as required by the client).
Referring to the Microsoft Industry Codes provided by the client, we assigned NAICS codes for every verified company. By categorizing data, we ensured each record was accurately mapped to the appropriate industry vertical, creating a uniform classification framework for thousands of businesses across different regions.
Leveraging manual research and using tools like Zoominfo, Apollo, and LinkedIn, we accessed the real-time data of employees, validated their employment status and job titles, and updated information for all 59,000 contacts.
For departed employees, we not only updated their last known job title but also added detailed notations around their historical roles in the “Comment” column separately. While collecting and validating contact details from LinkedIn, company websites, or professional directories, we adhered to the terms of service of each source and respected data privacy regulations.
As part of our data enrichment service, we ensured that every validated contact record was supplemented with relevant metadata—such as company size, industry code, and decision-making role-enhancing overall data utility.
Applying the client-specified NAICS classification framework, we created a segmented list of qualified prospects and companies. Our list building service enabled precise targeting based on industry, job titles, employee size, and location, for use in marketing, partnerships, and outreach campaigns.
The client’s strict guidelines required additional diligence for records with special characters or unclear/incomplete information. These were carefully investigated, corrected, and validated before undergoing comprehensive quality checks, ensuring the final dataset aligned with all project requirements.
Given the scale and sensitivity of the project, we adopted a human-in-the-loop approach, pairing subject matter experts with reliable automation tools.
Human expertise for contextual accuracy: Our specialists reviewed ambiguous entries, resolved inconsistencies, and ensured accurate and industry-appropriate NAICS code assignments.
Automation for speed and consistency: We utilized automation to speed up data matching or scraping activities, reducing turnaround time without compromising accuracy.
Hybrid checks for security: While automated tools handled repetitive queries, all critical decisions (like company status changes or sensitive classification) were manually validated by subject matter experts.
Our structured approach to data management, subject matter expertise, and scalable workflows enabled on-time delivery while maintaining strict data security and compliance standards. With a combination of our data enrichment, prospect record validation, data collection, standardization, and data cleansing services, the project delivered measurable results that exceeded client expectations:
99.2% accuracy achieved in classifying 61,000 companies using a three-tier NAICS code framework
1,400+ closed or dissolved companies identified and flagged, eliminating potentially wasted campaign spend on defunct accounts
40% higher client acquisition rate achieved through access to segmented, validated B2B data
30% reduction in operational overheads as the reliable and up-to-date database eliminated the need for further data cleanup or validation
