A US-Based University Press Partners with SunTec for Digitization of Backlist Titles, Reviving 3500+ Books & Journals

SunTec India, a leading provider of ePublishing and eBook conversion services, successfully digitized more than 3500 backlist titles from a huge collection of a US-based university press, converting them into different eBook formats such as print PDF, ePub and Mobi. The client publishes books and journals across a variety of subjects including Art History, Architecture, Film and Media Studies, Photography, Anthropology, Conservation and the Environment, Middle Eastern Studies, Music, Visual Arts, Current Affairs, etc.

By transforming the archive content into digital books, the client wanted to provide a feather light library to the readers worldwide, enabling them to read books on-the-go. The technology team from SunTec India meticulously scanned 500 titles that were available in the hardcopy format. We developed an effective transformation workflow while ensuring that special requests for some titles including special font and design requirements are met.

Our Quality Assurance team also worked to ensure successful QA-tested conversion, following which the files were returned to the client for digital distribution. The digital version of the titles are easily accessible across all the major eReaders like Amazon Kindle, Barnes & Noble's Nook, Apple, Google, Kobo and Android devices, and digital libraries such as ProQuest, JSTOR, 3M, OverDrive, Ebsco, ProjectMuse and Ebrary.
